The Los Angeles Lakers‘ season is getting closer and closer to finishing and for many fans that will bring some relief. While there were high expectations for this team before the season, with the way they are playing, it might be better if the Lakers don’t make the playoffs altogether.

The front office may already be in preparation mode for the offseason and that includes scouting for the 2022 NBA Draft. Los Angeles currently does not have a single pick in the 2022 NBA Draft but that can change. With two second-round picks next year, the Lakers can do the classic move of “buying” a second-round pick if needed.

We see this every year. A team does not have the roster space for a second-round prospect and instead of wasting the pick and salary-cap space, the team will trade it for a future second-round pick or outright cash considerations.

With all the help the Lakers need for next season, it might be best to buy a second-round pick in 2022. They are not going to get an elite prospect, but they could still get someone talented.

Perhaps the Los Angeles Lakers could target someone in the Final Four.

If there is one thing that the Lakers have been great at in recent years it is spotting talent late in the draft and turning the into rotational players. There are some potential second-round prospects that are in the Final Four that the Lakers should be taking an extra look at this weekend.

And if the Lakers like any of the prospects that probably means they will turn into something in the NBA and could produce in LA next season. Here are the three potential Final Four prospects that the Lakers could potentially be targeting.
