The 2021-22 season should go down as perhaps the most disappointing in Los Angeles Lakers‘ history. While there have been worse seasons in terms of record, the difference between expectations and reality has never been so different for LA.

At least the 2012-13 Lakers made the playoffs and were figuring things out at the end of the season with Kobe Bryant playing at an elite level. If Bryant does not get hurt that year who knows how far that team goes in the playoffs.

This Lakers team likely won’t have the luxury of saying they made the playoffs and that is with the team getting additional help. As it currently stands, the Lakers are the 11th seed in the Western Conference and trail the San Antonio Spurs by one game for the 10th seed. San Antonio also has the tiebreaker, so the Lakers essentially trail San Antonio by two games.

This was the favorite to win the NBA Championship out of the Western Conference before the season and they missed the playoffs entirely.

In this disappointing Los Angeles Lakers season there have been disappointing players as well.

Quite frankly, the entire team may qualify to be on this list as no one outside of LeBron James and Malik Monk had a positive season. However, at the end of the day, there are three players on the Lakers who undoubtedly had the most disappointing seasons when you consider the expectations that those players had.

We are not going to bash Kent Bazemore or Avery Bradley for playing poorly, they didn’t really have expectations. Here are the three Lakers who did, and who were incredibly disappointing as a result.
