3. Talen Horton-Tucker has been extremely disappointing

The Los Angeles Lakers do not have much youth on the roster. Rookie Austin Reaves was an exciting addition last season and there is the duo of Mason Jones and McClung, who both were given All-NBA G League honors.

While that trio all has potential, there is no guarantee that any of them pan out, just look at Talen Horton-Tucker. THT had all the potential in the world and now the Lakers are definitely regretting not trading him for Kyle Lowry and then essentially choosing to sign him over Alex Caruso.

THT was one of the worst offensive players in the league last season and he did not play good enough defense to even close to making up for what he was leaving on the table on offense. THT’s value now is significantly lower than it was a year ago today.

Yes, THT is really young and there is still a chance that he turns it around and puts together a solid career, there is no denying that. However, he is only under contract for two more seasons and if he has a huge breakout year next season then he could opt out of his deal and leave anyway.

Next. Westbrook and the 10 worst trades in franchise history. dark

With his disappointing performance and his contract, the team cannot bank on him being the young foundational piece anymore. Los Angeles has to add youth as a buffer and they cannot push it off a year.
