At the time of writing this, the Minnesota Timberwolves are currently down three games to two against the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. By the time you are reading this, the Timberwolves could be out of the playoffs or could have forced a Game 7 against Memphis.

Regardless of what happens, this has been a very promising run for the Timberwolves thus far and is something for the team to build on. While they could shock the Grizzlies and get past them, the odds of them making it as far as the Western Conference Finals are slim to none.

But still, this is a great foundation for the Timberwolves to build on and they could look to take this foundation and parlay it into getting a top star. Anthony Edwards is well on his way to being a top star and if the T-Wolves fall short in the playoffs, they may point the finger at Karl-Anthony Towns and upgrade him to a better big.

If so, the Timberwolves would probably give the Los Angeles Lakers a call and in turn, Rob Pelinka would have no choice but to entertain Minnesota’s potential offer.

A potential Anthony Davis trade to the Minnesota Timberwolves:

That’s it. It is not that complex. I know that there is a contingent of Lakers fans who would be outraged by this trade as well as a contingent of Lakers fans who want to see Anthony Davis traded and would love this trade.

And why would the Timberwolves trade their star big man for another star big man after making this great playoff run? Well, in the following pages, we will explain why both the Lakers and Timberwolves have reasons to say yes to this potential trade package.
