The possibility of the Los Angeles Lakers trading LeBron James has become a hot topic in recent days. We were at Lake Show Life laid out the argument for trading James a month ago and it is now starting to catch on with the mainstream media.

It seems increasingly likely that James will not sign an extension this summer and if the team thinks he is going to leave after the 2022-23 season, it would make more sense in the grand scheme of things to trade him than keep him around.

Initial reports indicate that Jeanie Buss would not see LeBron not signing an extension as a reason to trade him and that is unfortunate. It is a really hard thing to do to trade the second-best player of all time but it is the front office’s job to maximize the team, not to keep LeBron happy.

If there is one thing we know about the NBA, though, it is to expect the unexpected. That raises the question of what LeBron’s value would be if the Lakers were to trade him this summer. Finding a suitor that has the assets to trade back and would actually want one season of LeBron is tough, but there is a potential suitor in his former team, the Miami Heat.

A potential trade package that sends LeBron James to the Miami Heat:

This trade might seem absurd on the surface and any deal of this magnitude is going to be polarizing and is going to have fans on both sides that hate the idea of the trade.

That is why on the following two pages we are going to break down why the Los Angeles Lakers could say yes to this potential trade package as well as why the Miami Heat could also potentially say yes.
