While both sides have denied it publically in the media, there is no doubt that Rich Paul and Klutch Sports have an impact on the decisions that the Los Angeles Lakers make. After all, the Anthony Davis trade was orchestrated shortly after he switched agencies and signed with Klutch. And if it was not for LeBron and AD’s influence, then the team may not have traded for Russell Westbrook.
There are other, lesser, examples of Klutch Sports’ influence on the team. Montrezl Harrell opted into his player option last offseason when he had every reason to opt out and get paid more. Instead, he opted in essentially knowing he would be traded. Harrell is a Klutch client and it probably is not a coincidence that he opted-in so LeBron James could get Westbrook.
While the Lakers do not have many moves they can make this offseason, we might see the team target some Klutch clients. If so, the team could end up trading for some of LeBron’s agency-mates.
There are three Klutch Sports clients that the Los Angeles Lakers could trade for.
The Lakers do not have many assets but there are three players with ties to the Lakers through Klutch that the team could potentially afford this offseason. Of course, the Lakers can get some help from these players if needed (that is only true with one of these players), and they can essentially force the issue with their respective teams.
Players and agencies have more power in the NBA than in any other major sport. Here are three Klutch clients that could flex their power to end up getting traded to the Lakers.
