Patrick Beverley made a lot of NBA headlines recently with his take on Chris Paul. Among his media tour earlier this week, Beverley admitted that the one player he would love to play with is LeBron James. Beverley even said that he would not even hesitate to play for the Lakers if he was not locked down with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Beverley then did his best attempt at recruiting LeBron James to Minnesota. After making the playoff this season, Minnesota does have something good going for it with Anthony Edwards emerging as a potential star in the making.

Who knows what LeBron James will do. He is a free agent after this upcoming season (unless he signs an extension) and regardless of how happy he says he is in LA, we know that LeBron is prone to change his mind about his situation.

Luckily, Laker fans don’t have to worry much about the Timberwolves potentially stealing LeBron away next summer, as there is only one thing that could get LeBron to take his talents from sunny Los Angeles to the Mall of America.

The only way LeBron James will ever join the Timberwolves is if the team drafts Bronny James.

We know that LeBron James has his eyes set on playing in the league with his son Bronny, who is not available to be drafted until the 2024 NBA Draft. There are another two seasons between now and when Bronny could potentially be drafted.

Bronny will be the most interesting draft prospect in NBA history, especially if he is not even that great of a player. Bronny could be the 200th-best prospect in the 2024 NBA Draft class but there should be some teams willing to use a second-round pick to draft him just to get his dad to join the team.

Sure, it will be older LeBron, but if it is a contending team that needs that extra component then it makes so much sense to do so, especially if Bron is willing to take the league minimum to play with his son.

That is the only thing that could lead LeBron to the Timberwolves and who knows, they could be that contending team that is missing a component. If Edwards is an All-NBA player by then (it is possible) then they could be one veteran LeBron James away from winning a championship.

The one concern for Minnesota, though, is that they currently do not have a pick in the 2024 NBA Draft as they traded it to the Oklahoma City Thunder so they will have to make some kind of move (or use a first-round pick) to select Bronny.

Next. Westbrook and the 10 worst trades in franchise history. dark

By then Patrick Beverley might not even be on the team so his wish of playing with James might not even come true.
