The Los Angeles Lakers have a lot of work to do this offseason if the team is going to go from the most disappointing season in franchise history to be a contending team once more. The fall from grace for the Lakers happened suddenly and with the direction the team is headed, it is fair to not be optimistic about what lies ahead.

The best-case scenario for the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason is to find a trade partner for Russell Westbrook that can actually send value back to LA. Trading for someone like John Wall is not going to do it for the Lakers.

This is a hard task, though, as Westbrook is one of the worst trade assets in the league as he is not longer a star and is making $47.1 million next season. However, crazier things have happened in the NBA and a Westbrook trade certainly is not impossible.

There are two “dream” targets for the Los Angeles Lakers in a Russell Westbrook trade.

James Piercey of NBA Analysis Network recently broke down two potential “dream” trade targets for the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason; both players being options for the team if they were to trade Russell Westbrook.

But just how realistic are these two options? In the following pages, we will break down the two players highlighted, give our take of how possible they truly are and come up with a final verdict; either fact or fiction.
