Lakers can trade for former MVP in potential Talen Horton-Tucker package

It appears that the ship has sailed on the Los Angeles Lakers trading Russell Westbrook this offseason. While the best version of the Lakers is without Westbrook, all signs are pointing to the team keeping him to at least start the 2022-23 season.

That does not mean that the Lakers are completely out of the trade market, though. While the Lakers do not have much to offer via trade they do have one young asset in Talen Horton-Tucker. While THT is a fan favorite, there is solid reasoning to trade the former second-round pick this offseason.

Heck, the Lakers tried to trade him during the deadline last season but were unable to find any deals that made sense. Rob Pelinka will certainly be making calls to see what he can get for THT and the New York Knicks are an interested team to potentially do business with.

In fact, trading with the New York Knicks might yield the best possible return that the team can get for THT. THT does not have much trade value, yet still, the Lakers could potentially get a former MVP for his services.
