Anthony Davis had Los Angeles Lakers fans in a frenzy when they caught wind of him saying he has not shot a ball since April 5 in a video posted to YouTube by Nuke Squad, a gaming channel on YouTube.

Davis was traded from the New Orleans Pelicans to the Lakers in 2019 for Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, Brandon Ingram, and three first-round picks. The Lakers gave up a lot of assets to acquire Davis, which is why they are now left trying to acquire a second-round pick.

However, the trade proved to be successful for Los Angeles because the team won the championship in 2020. Davis averaged 25 points in the NBA Finals. He also was amazing during the regular season, averaging 26.1 points and 9.3 rebounds in 62 games.

Sadly since the 2019-20 season, the amount of games Davis played has decreased. During the 2021-22 season Davis played in only 40 games. He last played for the Lakers on April 5, scoring 21 points and grabbing 15 rebounds.

Davis has missed a ton of games because of injuries. To the extent that he was given the nickname Anthony “street clothes” Davis by Charles Barkley. And his recent admission of him last shooting a ball being the last game he played in for the Lakers, gave his critics more to talk about.

But fans can now start to relax because Davis appears to have picked up a ball again.

NBA Twitter reacts to Lakers’ Anthony Davis not playing basketball since April

It is nice to see Davis back in the gym working on his game. But unfortunately for him admitting he has not played since April gave NBA Twitter all they needed to roast him.

This user does have a point but he should go easy on him because Davis has been injured.

I agree, 2019 Davis was special. But now the Lakers have an injury-prone player who seems like he reached his goal of winning a championship, so he has no reason to give his all anymore. Hopefully, he proves everybody wrong next season and returns to prime AD the one that fans were happy to see join the Lakers.
