Lakers can add the perfect wing in potential Talen Horton-Tucker trade
By Jason Reed
The Los Angeles Lakers should be trying a lot of different things this offseason to improve the team and wipe away the sting of the most disappointing season in franchise history. Because Russell Westbrook and his massive salary are still on the books, the Lakers are limited in what they actually can do.
One of the only trade assets that the Lakers actually have is young guard, Talen Horton-Tucker. Laker fans and the organization have been very high on THT since he was drafted in the second round, so much so that the team essentially decided to re-sign him over Alex Caruso last offseason.
That decision immediately backfired as Caruso’s defense was sorely missed in LA. The team seemingly floated Horton-Tucker at the deadline but could not get any takers.
That should not stop the Los Angeles Lakers from trying to trade Talen Horton-Tucker this offseason.
We have broken down various possible Talen Horton-Tucker trade packages here at Lake Show Life and the one that we are bringing you today is perhaps the absolute best-case scenario for the Lakers. It makes it the least likely of the bunch but it certainly is not impossible for reasons that we will outline.
Harrison Barnes is a former NBA Champion who is wasting away on the Sacramento Kings. Barnes is on an expiring contract and the Kings would get more value out of trading the last year of his deal over keeping him around for nothing.
This trade might seem absurd to fans of the Kings but they are used to their team doing absurd things, so it is definitely not out of the realm of possibility. Certain stars would have to align for this to happen, but at the end of the day, both teams could very well say yes to this trade.
