There is no doubt that the Los Angeles Lakers are in a tough situation this offseason. Limited draft capital and cap room puts this team in a huge bind. With such limited capital, the Lakers are not going to be able to trade for a first-round pick. However, the second round is wide open for the team. The team has had luck with more under-the-radar players in years past.

The team struck gold in 2019 when they selected Talen Horton-Tucker in the second round. Horton-Tucker has flashed potential and has been a solid contributor to this Lakers team.

The team also was able to snag Austin Reaves as an undrafted free agent this past year. Reaves played well in his minutes and will look to have an expanded role this upcoming season.

This year’s NBA draft has been centered around three players Paolo Banchero, Chet Holmgren, and Jabari Smith Jr.

With all of the media hype being around, these three people forget how deep of a class this really is. It’s loaded with talent projected to go into both rounds.

Let’s dive into two players who would be amazing fits for the Los Angeles Lakers.
