The Los Angeles Lakers are in a mess of their own making this offseason. With LeBron James, Anthony Davi, and Russell Westbrook all under contract, the team is going to have to be creative if they hope to build a contending roster in what could be LeBron’s final season with the Lakers.

The Lakers have one championship so far in LeBron’s tenure but could have easily competed for two more with back-to-back seasons of poor decision-making and bad roster-building leaving the Lakers desperate to find answers.

This offseason every option except trading LeBron should be on the table for the Lakers. Free agency has to be about finding younger players who play on both ends of the floor. Anthony Davis is still an elite defender but even at his best cannot even begin to wipe away the number of mistakes the Lakers have made defensively in the last two seasons.

If the Lakers are putting all options on the table that should include trading any of the players under contract aside from LeBron.

Looking at the Los Angeles Lakers roster, the three most obvious candidates to be dealt this offseason emerge.

There isn’t a player on the Lakers roster who is going to net a big return, however, the Lakers can improve their chances by dealing these three players this offseason.
