9. Joe Ingles

Joe Ingles is one name that would be surprising not to see tied to the Lakers at some point this offseason. Ingles was a part of the Utah Jazz teams that consistently flamed out in the playoffs. He was a great bench player who consistently gave Utah a much-needed catch and shoot option. While his defense is far from elite he plays both ends with the same effort and is due for a bounce-back season.

After struggling with the Jazz and being sent to Portland after suffering an ACL injury, Ingles will hit free agency with a number of contending teams interested in adding the veteran.

The one downside to adding Ingles is the fact he isn’t an elite defender and is unlikely to improve on that end entering his age 35 season. If the Lakers add Ingles it will need to be with a strong defensive bench with Joe as the 9th or 10th option.

At his best Ingles is a knock-down shooter who is going to play hustle defense and give you 10-points off the bench. While the Lakers will likely shy away from adding older players after the debacle of last season Joe Ingles is one exception the team should be willing to make.
