8. JaVale McGee

Letting JaVale McGee walk was one of many mistakes the Los Angeles front office has made since the team won the championship during the 2020 season. McGee is coming off of a great season with the Suns and a reunion would make sense for both sides.  What JaVale brings to a team cannot be measured in stats alone.

Those who have watched the Lakers closely over the last three seasons know the difference in energy the L.A. bench has shown with and without McGee. It doesn’t matter how often JaVale is on the court he is going to make an impact and have a positive influence on your roster.

If the Lakers decide to run with two centers on their roster JaVale McGee and Tristan Thompson would be a great pairing and give the Lakers the options they had during the 2020 season with McGee and Dwight Howard.

If the team is going to keep and start Anthony Davis at center McGee should be added as the backup considering the energy and production he would bring.

Yes, there are the frustrating JaVale McGee moments but they are far outweighed by the energy he brings both on and off the court.
