The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to navigate the free agency period in an effective way to build a roster that can actually contend for a championship next season. It is crucial that the Lakers sign the right players that can not only provide quality minutes but also mesh together as well.

Add in the fact that there is now the potential for a Kyrie Irving trade after Kevin Durant decided he wanted out of Brooklyn and demanded a trade from the team. It is now possible to trade Westbrook and however many picks for Irving and that might be exactly what the Lakers do.

That does not mean the team should focus less on free agency, though, and fans should be pretty happy with the direction the team took in day one. Most notably, the Lakers learned from their mistake last season and did not sign any free agent over the age of 30.

The Lakers certainly regretted a lot of the decisions they made last summer as well. And while these regrets from day one might not end up being massive, there still are two players who the Lakers might look back on with remorse when the season rolls around.

Let’s dive into those two players.
