The Los Angeles Lakers have had a much different approach in free agency thus far this summer than the team had last year. Last year, Rob Pelinka built the oldest team in the league and it obviously did not pan out as the Lakers missed the play-in. This summer, thus far, the Lakers have targeted youth.

All four free agents that the Lakers have signed thus far are under 30 years old with two players, Lonnie Walker IV and Troy Brown Jr, under the age of 25. Typically, young free agents that go for the minimum have struggled thus far in their career but as we saw with Malik Monk, they could also break out.

If the Lakers want to continue this trend of signing young free agents there is a trio of players under the age of 25 that the team could look to sign.

3 free agents under 25 the Los Angeles Lakers can still pursue:

1. Moses Brown

Moses Brown is someone who has been mentioned several times here on Lake Show Life as the Cleveland Cavaliers did not offer him a tender before free agency, making him a great potential target for LA.

The Lakers already brought in a center in Damian Jones but everything that the team has done in the past has told us that they will bring in another center. The team could try and sign a veteran option like Hassan Whiteside but they could also sign a young player with upside, like Brown.

Brown averages right around 15 and 15 per 36 minutes in his NBA career as he provides a reliable rim-protecting and rebounding presence. He is not the most dynamic center option available but he is moldable and could learn things on the Lakers.

LeBron James has always elevated the play of centers with his driving ability and Brown would be no different. He can definitely be better than DeAndre Jordan was last season and at worst, should be as good as Howard was. The Lakers should buy the upside.
