How have veteran players such as former G-League players, Isaiah Thomas and Darren Collison inspired Kenneth Faried?

Lake Show Life’s take:

With the Los Angeles Lakers extremely limited financially on how they build their roster no matter if Russell Westbrook is traded or not, this team is going to have to be creative with not only the salary cap but players that are tough-minded that will fit into Darvin Ham’s system and culture.

Faried’s teammate, Isaiah Thomas, used his opportunity with the Grand Rapids Gold to obtain a 10-day contract with the purple and gold in December. On December 17th Thomas was the Lakers’ only bright spot scoring 19 points in a loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves. This shows the hard work Jason Terry did to prepare his players to ready when their name is called.

Even though Darren Collison did not make the impact that Thomas did in his short stint with the Lakers, it was enough of an impression that the team recently brought him back for a workout this offseason according to Brad Turner…

"Sources: The Lakers had free agent point guard Darren Collision in for a workout Wednesday. Collision, 34, played in 3 games with the Lakers last season and has interest in playing in NBA this season."

Sure, the headlines will be filled with trade rumors surrounding Russell Westbrook and Kyrie Irving for the next few weeks to months, but the Los Angeles Lakers are going to have to fill the end of the bench with some veteran players if they want to make a realistic run for the playoffs, much less a title. Kenneth Faried could be that guy that this website has mentioned numerous times. We even consider him one of the top five 22nd overall picks in NBA history!
