It’s no secret that Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis has been criticized lately. The 29-year-old only playing 76 games the last two years can be frustrating for fans. However, we can’t forget what Anthony Davis looks like when healthy.

When the former Kentucky Wildcat is healthy, he’s an All-NBA player dominating on both sides of the ball. Davis will want to prove the doubters wrong this upcoming season, and if he does, the Lake show could be in for a title run.

Why Anthony Davis needs to prove the doubters wrong

The former first overall pick is ready to shut the haters down. He’s already been seen working with legendary NBA shooting coach Lethal Shooter. Perfecting his outside scoring and free throws will be an added benefit for the 6’10” star.

This training will also help the team amid the concerns about floor spacing. If the Lakers want to win this upcoming season, they need the superstar forward to stay healthy for most of the season.

Lakers fans missed Davis on the offensive side of the ball, but they may have missed his defensive presence more. Davis is one of the best rim-protecting bigs in the league, and when he wasn’t playing for the Lake show, there was a lack of rim protection. The squad suffered greatly in games on the line because opposing players could easily get to the rim easily.

The main issue for Davis has always been health. The big man has always found himself in unlucky scenarios. Even in the Laker’s historic 2020 championship run season, the superstar only played 62 regular season games.

If Davis can stay healthy this season, this will ultimately lead to a better product on the court and a brighter future for the Lakers. Players were hesitant to come to the team due to last year’s poor record, but with a turnaround season, the Lakers would have a much easier time recruiting free agents.

Davis proving the doubters wrong ultimately helps the team because this is just a better team with him on the court. His chemistry with the team and NBA legend LeBron James is just unmatched. The team needs Davis to stay healthy.

Time will only tell if Davis can show that he can stay healthy for most of an NBA season. But one thing is sure: Davis and the squad will aim to silence any naysayers during the upcoming season.
