5. Dallas Mavericks
Listening to LeBron James speak about his peers during his time with the Lakers he hasn’t been shy about praising two players the aforementioned Steph Curry and Dallas star point guard Luka Doncic.
Luka pushed the Mavericks into the playoffs each of the last three seasons and hasn’t yet been able to push his team to the finals. The Mavericks have locked up all of his contributing pieces outside of Jalen Brunson for the next two seasons keeping Dallas locked in as potential contenders.
However, this move also limits the chances of seeing a LeBron and Luka tandem in Dallas. As it currently stands Dallas can practically offer LeBron a contract in the $15-20-million dollar range. Far from the max and hardly the stacked deck he would be offered if he accepted less than the max elsewhere.
Though Dallas doesn’t have any particularly horrible contracts and could open up space to increase their offer. Luke and LeBron on the same floor would be downright unfair LeBron is an elite passer but many forget just how great he can be playing off the ball. Something that was supposed to happen with Westbrook joining the Lakers last season.
Luka and LeBron would be must-watch anytime they shared the floor together. The two dynamic stars would perfectly compliment bringing legitimate championship hopes to Dallas and giving LeBron a player more than capable of starting and carrying the team for long periods of time.
