Patrick Beverley is the Los Angeles Lakers’ Baker Mayfield

Patrick Beverley is much later into his NBA career than Baker Mayfield is into his NFL career. That being said, Mayfield is already showing parallels to Beverley that might make him the NFL’s version of Pat Bev when it is all said and done.

Beverley is never the best part of his teams but he is always a valuable part. Beverley has played on some good teams and while nobody thinks he should put the franchise on his back, he can build off of the strengths of the roster. The same can be said for Mayfield.

Both guys are also chirpy and are ultra-competitive. Beverley is not scared to go after anyone in the NBA and Mayfield has shown a fiery spirit that not a lot of quarterbacks in the NFL have.

Both guys also have similar feelings about them in the league. If you do not have Beverley or Baker on your team then there is a good chance you don’t like him. However, the second he is added to the roster he becomes your guy as he just wants to do whatever it takes to win.

Mayfield’s tenure with the Carolina Panthers likely won’t last very long and he is good enough to extend his career and play for a few more teams, just like Beverley did. Heck, maybe Baker will have a stint playing pro ball in Europe, although I doubt that will happen.
