Yes, we are finally back to the NBA season! The Los Angeles Lakers opened up the NBA season on Tuesday night against the Golden State Warriors, who decided to have a party with some of their closest friends to celebrate winning the NBA title for the last time.

Get used to post-game reports like these because this Lake Show Life writer is not going to lie to the Lakers fanbase…why? Because you deserve better than this Purple and Fools Gold this franchise is going to give this season.

The Los Angeles Lakers opened their NBA season with a loss to the Golden State Warriors 123-109. The story is not about the game, but the complete sad state of this franchise. Here’s how teams will beat the Lakers and it is foolproof.

  • Let LeBron get his numbers and let him shoot as many 3-pointers as possible…
  • Let LeBron outscore Anthony Davis…
  • Russell Westbrook will never be a real threat to explode this season because…the Los Angeles Lakers will make sure of that (More on that later!)…

Outside of Kendrick Nunn (13 points!), no other Laker even sniffed double figures other than LeBron, AD and Russ. The Lake Show donated bricks to the city of San Francisco shooting 10-40 from beyond the arc (25 percent!) and compounded things further with 21 turnovers.

The good from the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss:

LeBron James and his fanbase should be happy… he got his numbers!

Oh my goodness, how can LeBron James be doing all of this in his 20th season? He is going to pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar quickly this season at the scoring rate he’s at this season. He’s got to be the G.O.A.T.! Get used to these phrases because that’s all the Lakers have to stay relevant this season. This is not a knock on LeBron (Totally!), but he cannot be the best player on this team if 30 wins are going to be possible.

He finished with 31 points (12-25 shooting!) 14 rebounds and 8 assists.

The Los Angeles Lakers didn’t…quit?

This could have been easily a repeat of the final preseason debacle when Sacramento handed out 47 business cards last week, but the Lakers did not quit. Did they have a chance of winning? No. However, outscoring Golden State 38-32 in the fourth quarter should be noted.

The bad from the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss:

The Los Angeles Lakers have shown that this offense can only last 24 minutes!

Throughout the preseason besides the Sacramento game where they lost by 47 points (They were bad for the full 48!), the Los Angeles Lakers have shown the most pathetic offense after halftime. This team seems to get blown out after the halftime show.

The game was actually close at 59-52. Then they were outscored 32-19 in the third quarter to settle things. Don’t let the final score fool you because Golden State fell asleep in the last 12 minutes and got sloppy.

The Lakers don’t have bench scorers… seriously folks!

Take out Kendrick Nunn’s 13 points the rest of the bench scored…11. Jordan Poole outscored this crew himself with 12 points and the Warriors scored 41 overall.

Nothing has changed from last year…

The more things change (Players on the cheap!), the more they stay the same (The quality of basketball on a consistent basis!)

The story from the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss:

Russell Westbrook deserves better than this…

The Los Angeles Lakers are not contenders for the championship. They are not playoff contenders. It will be breaking news if this team can put together four quarters of good basketball. This was a carbon copy of the preseason where the offense tries to beat the rush hour traffic on the L.A. speedways.

Instead of the organization taking accountability for bad roster decisions, coaching choices and a complete lack of organization in the front office, they decided to blame Russell Westbrook.

Sadly Russ won’t be traded and if he was those first-round picks (Any team WILL ask for them to be unprotected) are going with him which will be lottery picks because this team is awful. Instead of making an effort to come up with a system that will get the best out of the team, the Lakers will continue to lie about rumors of trades and pick up someone on the waiver wire after the trade deadline.

Charles is right, and understand that the game was close at halftime. The wheels fell off in the third quarter because this team can’t throw the ball in the ocean standing neck-deep in the Pacific. He finished with 19 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists. Fun fact: Russell Westbrook was the only Laker player to shoot over 50 percent.

The Los Angeles Clippers are next on Thursday.
