Dwight Howard has enjoyed three different stints on the Los Angeles Lakers and while the first stint did not go as planned at all, Howard grew on Lakers fans with his contributions to the 2020 NBA Championship team.

Howard’s NBA career appears to be over as no team signed him to a contract, leading the future Hall of Famer to explore the possibility of joining the WWE. Instead of putting on his wrestling boots, though, Howard laced up his basketball sneakers to play overseas.

Howard signed with the Taoyuan Leopards, a Taiwanese basketball club that plays in the T1 League. The T1 League is relatively new as it is only in its second season, so a big-name player like Howard is a massive boost to the popularity of the team.

The former All-NBA center certainly gave the fans what they wanted to see in his first game for the Leopards, putting together a truly insane stat line in his international debut.

Howard’s massive performance in his debut definitely caught the attention of the basketball world. It also caught the attention of former Lakers fan-favorite Nick Young, who wants to now take Swaggy P overseas and team up with Howard (for at least one game).

Nick Young teaming up with Dwight Howard would be must-watch TV for Lakers fans.

If Nick Young is actually serious and goes overseas to play with Howard in Taiwan then it would be appointment viewing for Lakers fans. Forget watching international basketball to watch the best draft prospect since LeBron James; watching international basketball to see Nick Young and Dwight Howard on the same team is the move.

Young was nothing more than a role player in his NBA career and the Lakers caught Howard after his prime. All that being said, they are still two of the most entertaining players in recent Lakers history and seeing them together against worse competition would be a sight to see.

Young, now 37, last played in the NBA in 2018 with the Denver Nuggets. In 2021 he signed on to play with the Big3, which is fun, but is not as fun as seeing him suit up with Howard overseas.

Young saying it is one last go makes it seem like he isn’t invested in playing the entire season with the Leopards, so if he were to actually go overseas and play just one game it would definitely be something that the basketball world would have to tune into.
