The Los Angeles Lakers beat the San Antonio Spurs 143-138 Saturday night and are now 7-11 on the season. This win was led by LeBron James, who was absolutely dominant. The King dropped 39 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists.

James looked rusty in his return performance on Friday, but Sunday he showed why they call him the King. James was looking like a sharpshooter shooting 7/11 from downtown. This was a crucial game for James, and he needed to perform well.

With a less-than-LeBron-like start to the season, the critics were all over him. There were real questions about if father time had caught up to the 37-year-old or if the team was better off without him. However, James showed why he’s one of the greatest of all time and dominated in a game where he needed to.

As basketball fans, sometimes we don’t consider just how special James is. Once again, this is a 37-year-old man dominating the game just like he did any other year of his life. This lob pass from Rusell Westbrook just shows how freaky athletic this man truly is.

Fascinating enough, 17 years ago to the exact date, a twenty-year-old James dropped 38 points on six threes with the Cavaliers. It just goes to show the longevity and consistency James has played with his entire career.

LeBron James’ return to form is coming at a perfect time for the Lakers.

The Lake Show has won five of their last six and have a very winnable game on Monday vs. the Indiana Pacers. The team is finally starting to gel, and it’s translating into wins. With James back and looking like himself, along with a red-hot Anthony Davis, this team is ready to make some noise.

The duo is showing why they’re one of the best duos in basketball. It will be great to see these two back on the court together when they’re both finally healthy.

It wasn’t a pretty start to the season, but these boys look ready to hoop. They’ll have to start stacking some wins against better teams, but this Laker team is in a much better position than they were just a few weeks ago.

Lakers fans hope this performance was just the start of something special for the King in his twentieth season. We’ll have to see how the rest of this season plays out, but one thing is for sure we should appreciate James, as we don’t know how much longer he has left.
