3. Miami Heat

If there is one team in the league that prides itself on getting the most out of players who are not household names in the sport it is the Miami Heat. “Heat culture” has become an actual thing in the NBA and Matt Ryan would be a perfect addition to that culture.

Like Atlanta, Miami only has 14 players on the roster so they would be able to bring in Ryan without having to make any additional room. The team also has a need for three-point shooting. The Heat are not as bad as the other two teams mentioned, but they certainly are not great.

As it currently stands, the Heat are shooting 33.8% from beyond the arc this season, ranking them 21st among all teams in three-point percentage. Also like Atlanta, this has been a wild change from last season as Miami ranked first in three-point percentage last season.

The Heat simply do not have as deep of a team as they have had in previous years. Making matters worse is the fact that Duncan Robinson has been incredibly underwhelming, shooting just 30% from beyond the arc in the limited playing time that he is getting.

Ryan would not be able to make up for what the Heat are losing in Robinson entirely but he certainly would help bolster the roster and add some cushion for these disappointing shooters.

Miami would be so much better off if Ryan was taking the 2.3 threes per game that Haywood Highsmith is taking this season. Highsmith is shooting 30% from beyond the arc.
