After the three-week period putting belief of playoff contention back in the minds of Lakers Nation after a 2-10 start, the Los Angeles Lakers are close to implosion again with the injury to Anthony Davis. With LeBron James strategically selecting teams that are not as strong defensively to stop him, along with injuries throughout the team, the propaganda trade rumor machine should be up and running daily after Christmas.
How bad are things right now? The ENTIRE TEAM was on Shaqtin’ a Fool on Tuesday night, coming in second place with a bullet…
The Los Angeles Lakers were back on the road Wednesday to take on the Sacramento Kings. LeBron James returned to the lineup after modeling the Lakers’ new “Street Clothes” clothing line during the Lake Show beatdown to the Phoenix Suns on Monday night. Let’s be clear, this was a perfect game for LeBron because…
- The Sacramento Kings do not have strong, physical wing players with long arms.
- They also have no skilled centers that provide rim protection. Domantas Sabonis is a skilled power forward that plays well on the OFFENSIVE END!
The Lakers are on a slow drift to a steep waterfall getting blown out by the Sacramento Kings 134-120. Ghosts of the 2018-19 season and last year are flying around this franchise these days. Arguments of Lakers’ past and pictures of trophies are what fans are left with.
The sad thing is, this is not a history class, but a current events class. Big difference!
The good from the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss:
LeBron James got his highlight to get his name in the paper and to trend on Twitter!
The way things are going this season, this constant reminder of LeBron’s age will be all the Lakers have to offer in 2023. A hammer dunk on the break knowing that this does next to nothing in the grand scheme of things…
Now that the threat of AD is gone, the Kings knew all they needed to do was shut down everyone else. It’s a perfect scheme to allow LeBron to take everyone else out of the offense. We’ll discuss that in detail later.
But LeBron James did just enough to feed the narrative that he needs help on the floor and the seat of Rob Pelinka just got hotter. What about Jeanie Buss? Oh she got engaged to Jay Mohr, so she’s happy for now!
Oh my God! Patrick Beverley scored in double figures! He shot well too?
No, there is not an investigation of Ronald Agers for fake news. Yes, Patrick Beverley actually had an offensive contribution. He finished with 13 points with 2 rebounds and 3 assists.
The only problem is that he tried that “He’s too small” gesture on Kevin Huerter and Red Velvet woke up and played probably the most aggressive game of his career finishing with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals. But according to Darvin Ham, he’s not going to tell Pat-Bev not to have fun on the court. Like losing three NBA games a week on average is fun.
Dennis Schroder and Thomas Bryant got heart, Lakers fans!
Think about it. Two players playing on one-year deals at the league minimum actually showing up to play hard with physicality. How do we know? They actually touched up some people and drew some fouls. Bryant finished with a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds with 4 assists.
Dennis Schroder finished with 18 points and 3 assists. He looked more frustrated with his teammates’ defense than he was with the Kings.
The game ended!
Oh, this season is sinking folks!
The bad from the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss:
Without Anthony Davis, the Los Angeles Lakers can’t stop anything but bad NBA teams!
In the third quarter, the Sacramento Kings ran away from the Lakers with an 18-2 run to end this debacle. But there were plenty of oil leaks before this. The Lake Show gave up 41 points in the second quarter and if you add the 40 they gave up in the third quarter, they looked like the Golden State Warriors, who gave up 91 points in the first half to the Brooklyn Nets.
Domantas Sabonis looked like Dennis Rodman!
The good news is that Sabonis didn’t score a ton like he did in a previous game against the Charlotte Hornets when he had 28 points. The bad news is that he rebounded just like he did against the Hornets when he had 23.
This man should get 25 to life for what he did to the Lakers franchise on the boards. He finished with 21 rebounds (7 offensive!) to go with 13 points and 12 assists to complete a triple-double. His play opened up his starter teammates who all celebrated scoring games over 20 points.
But LeBron James…more on that later!
Well, lookie…lookie…lookie… it seems that the Lakers really need Russell Westbrook after all!
For some reason, the Lakers held Russ out for another game and boy they missed his presence. Without his ability to push the pace, the Lakers went back to watching LeBron dribble…then dribble and read the defense. The Kings on the other hand welcomed it and you see what happened.
On defense…well there was none. But trade Russ anyway and continue to keep Pat-Bev in the lineup.
The story from the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss:
The LeBron James PR games have officially started and they will embarrass the Los Angeles Lakers!
LeBron James will let this franchise embarrass itself to force Rob Pelinka to make a deal. He’s quitting on the season folks!
The staff of Lake Show Life knows that LeBron has let off the gas. We can’t be fooled. Basketball is an easy game to analyze. But it does take talent to shift blame and responsibility that belongs to the superstar and give it to the coaching staff, front office and his teammates.
First, you need an article that needs enough attention to go viral…
Then all LeBron has to do is go out and score 31 meaningless points with 11 assists in a blowout to set the narrative. This is the oldest trick in the book!
With Klutch Sports handling the PR work, LeBron James is going to let this ship sink just like he did his first season in L.A. Who is he fooling? He’ll have groin soreness probably after the Christmas game and sit out for three weeks.
The bottom line is this. NBA teams are going to do the same thing as last year. They know if LeBron is chasing the scoring title, his teammates will be shut down and won’t contribute due to his dominating the ball. The Lakers’ defense will allow an opposing player to match LeBron and the Lakers will lose.
Stanley Johnson punishes Lakers, thrives in first real game with the Spurs
Stanley Johnson played his first real game with the San Antonio Spurs on Monday and continued to make the Los Angeles Lakers look foolish.
Russell Westbrook can’t shoot, but his teammates had many more offensive opportunities.
