4. Lakers take a gamble on another young wing

Rui Hachimura is the latest young player to hit the NBA trade rumor mill as the Washington Wizards look to potentially recoup some assets for players that may not have long-term futures with the team.

There is no denying that Hachimura is a solid young player with potential but the Wizards likely do not have the means to bring him back after this season, especially if Kyle Kuzma is sticking around and is getting a pay increase.

Hachimura is not someone who is going to command a big pay day in free agency next offseason, which is another reason to add him on this type of deal. Not only are the Lakers get wing depth this season but they are getting a young player that could be part of the team for the next several years.

If the Cam Reddish market heats up and there is too much competition then the Lakers could simply pivot to Hachimura. Heck, there is a world in which Los Angeles likes Hachimura more and simply goes for him over Reddish.

Hachimura has shown that he can be proficient from beyond the arc and at the very least would provide a nice off-ball shooter that the Lakers can develop over the next several years to have a bigger role in the rotation.
