The Los Angeles Lakers head to New Orleans for an anticipated matchup with the Pelicans.

The two teams sit in 11th and 12th in the Western Conference, so whoever wins this game will take a step forward in getting back in the picture in the Western Conference.

The momentum is all on the Lakers side. They have won two-straight games, and now they take on a Pelicans team that has fallen off a cliff, losing 10-straight.

I have two player props I love for this game, so let’s jump into them.

Lakers vs. Pelicans player props

  • Anthony Davis OVER 26.5 points
  • Jonas Valanciunas UNDER 9.5 rebounds

Anthony Davis OVER 26.5 points

Anthony Davis has been hot his last two games, scoring 27 and 31 his last two games out. Tonight, he has a favorable matchup against a Pelicans team whose interior defense has been struggling.

Over their last three games, the pelicans are allowing teams to shoot 58.1% from two-point range, which is bottom five in the NBA over that stretch. I expect Davis to eat up down low all game and go over his point total.

Jonas Valanciunas UNDER 9.5 rebounds

In a similar vein, the Pelicans are going to struggle to rebound with Davis on the court, and I think it’s going to hurt Jonas Valanciunas more than anyone.

Valanciunas has failed to go over this number in three of his last four games, so I’ll back the UNDER to hit once again.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
