The Los Angeles Lakers have been disappointing this season, and things are about to get even worse. LeBron James is expected to miss several weeks due to a right foot tendon injury, according to Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet.
Now things have taken a further downward spiral. As the Lakers sit on a 30-33 record at the bottom of the Pacific division, D’Angelo Russell recently suffered an ankle injury that could hold him out of action. With two of their best players banged up, the immediate future is looking grim for Los Angeles.
With LeBron already in street clothes, will fans be able to see this new-look roster back together soon, and can Russell make a comeback against his former team?
D’Angelo Russell injury status vs Timberwolves:
Unfortunately, we won’t get to see this revenge tour play out this time. NBA reporter for ESPN, Dave McMenamin, confirms that Russell will miss his fourth straight game tonight due to his right ankle sprain.
D’Angelo Russell will miss a fourth straight game Friday against Minnesota because of his right ankle sprain, Russell told ESPN. Asked if Sunday vs. GSW was a potential return date, Russell said, “We’ll see once we get through Friday.”

The ankle injury was apparently severe enough to keep him out of action for another contest as he has officially been ruled out of the game tonight against the Timberwolves, ESPN confirms. With LeBron’s ailment already looming large, the Lakers could really use Russell back as soon as possible.
Full Timberwolves injury report vs Lakers:
The good news for Los Angeles is that they won’t have to face Karl-Anthony Towns as a calf injury will reportedly keep him sidelined until the final 10-15 games of the season. Timberwolves shooting guard, Jaylen Nowell is listed as day-to-day with a knee injury and his final designation is ‘questionable’ for tonight’s game.
In addition to LeBron James and D’Angelo Russell listed as ‘out’ for the Lakers game against the Timberwolves tonight, Anthony Davis is listed as day-to-day with a foot issue, and point guard Dennis Schroder also has a day-to-day designation. Davis is ‘probable’ and is expected to suit up tonight.
