The Los Angeles Lakers are currently playing for a spot in the NBA Playoffs. Los Angeles is among the contingent of teams in the Western Conference vying for limited playoff spots and needs to pick up some wins down the stretch to extend its season.

That is not the only thing that the players on the roster are playing for. The future is not guaranteed for every single member of the Lakers roster, with several players specifically playing for their future in Los Angeles.

Some players are guaranteed to return to LA next season. Others are guaranteed to leave. These are the players stuck in between with the most to prove down the stretch.

4. Troy Brown Jr.

Troy Brown Jr. is a Klutch client and that is likely what got him a contract with the Lakers in the first place. While he played a small role in the rotation early on in the season, Brown has really started to show his value to the team since the all-star break.

Brown has stepped up with LeBron James out of action and has been the three-point marksman that the Lakers never expected to have. Since the break, Brown is averaging 8.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game and is shooting 44.4% from three.

Brown’s future in Los Angeles is not guaranteed and if he continues to play this way then he is going to be a priority for the team to bring back this summer. However, if he comes back down to earth as quickly as he shot up then LA will have no problem replacing his spot in the rotation.
