Lakers fans must see Kyle Kuzma pulling an even worse Nick Young

Kyle Kuzma is someone who is very respected among the Los Angeles Lakers fanbase. Trade rumors always floated around his head when he was with the team but that did not stop him from playing a big role in the 2020 championship team.

Kuzma eventually was traded to the Washington Wizards and it did not take long for Lakers fans to miss what they had. There was very brief speculation this season about a homecoming for Kuzma but that ultimately was not meant to be.

While he might not be in the purple and gold he is still entertaining Lakers fans to this day. Kuzma has had a career year for the Washington Wizards this season but that might not be what fans remember his 2022-23 season for. Instead, they will likely remember the all-time blooper that Kuzma produced on Tuesday night.

This has to be one of the worst examples of athletes trying to be confident that we have ever seen. Not only did Kuzma miss the corner three but the shot bricked so hard off the front iron that is almost shot back at him and hit him in the back.

Kuzma didn’t just miss this three, he came up dramatically short. It did not take long for the former Laker to become the butt of the joke as he started to get tagged in videos of Stephen Curry doing the same thing but actually making the shot.

Lakers fans have seen this exact Kyle Kuzma blooper before.

What makes this so great for Lakers fans is that we have all seen this exact same thing happen before and this clip might be the new meme that circles on Twitter over Nick Young’s incredible miss.

If you are not familiar, Young produced the all-time example of a basketball player thinking he made a shot only for it to brick out. The way the shot missed, the camera work, the way Young turned around so confidently. The 16th century had the Sistine Chapel. We have this Nick Young clip (and I am not sure which is better).

Kyle Kuzma’s gaffe is right up there with Nick Young’s but I am not entirely sure if it can replace Young as the all-time funniest missed three. The cultural significance of Young’s gaffe simply cannot be matched.

At least this time it did not happen in the purple and gold. Lakers fans can laugh at Kuzma’s silly miss without the pain of it happening on their favorite team.
