The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to stay hot against a suddenly reeling New York Knicks team that has lost three straight heading into this matchup.

A big reason for the Knicks struggles is the loss of star guard Jalen Brunson, who is dealing with a foot injury and may miss the rest of the team’s road trip. That would be a huge boost for Los Angeles in this game.

The Lakers came from behind to beat the Toronto Raptors in their last game, and they’re hoping to keep the winning going with D’Angelo Russell back in the lineup.

Here are the odds and my best bet for this game:

Knicks vs. Lakers prediction and pick

The Lakers are slight favorites in this game, and for good reason.

New York’s offense takes a nose dive when Brunson is out of the lineup this season.

Even with the Lakers missing LeBron James, I think there is some value on them at home here. New York is a great team against the spread on the road, but the Knicks failed to cover against the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday and the Sacramento Kings on Thursday.

Since the trade deadline, the Lakers have been one of the better teams in the NBA, and certainly one of the more versatile squads, learning to play without James.

I’ll forget the points and back Los Angeles to pick up another win.
