The Los Angeles Lakers are currently trying to make a run at the NBA Playoffs but the front office has to keep an eye on the future. Rob Pelinka and co. should already be preparing for the offseason as there is going to be a lot of work that needs to be done.

Several players are currently in their last month under contract with the team and the front office has to decide who to keep and who to ditch. Those that end up leaving need to be replaced by as good, if not better, options.

There are some restricted free agents to keep in mind as well. Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura and Scotty Pippen Jr. are all restricted free agents but LA controls their destiny. These five players are free to go wherever they please.

5. Troy Brown Jr.

Troy Brown Jr. was likely signed to the Lakers last summer because he is a Klutch Sports client and it is no secret that LeBron’s agency has an influence on the decisions that the team makes. Brown’s tenure with the Lakers has been pretty up and down.

There are moments in which Brown doesn’t really offer much more than being a rotational forward option. However, there was also the stretch when LeBron first got hurt that he became the hottest shooter in the league and was a big reason for the team’s success.

If Brown is willing to come back on a minimum deal for the second year in a row then Lakers fans should be seeing him back in LA. If there is any sort of market that pays him more then his days with the team are numbered.
