The Los Angeles Lakers take on the Chicago Bulls in a Sunday matinee showing that could represent a big moment for the team. If the Lakers can beat the Bulls at home then it will be the first time all season that the purple and gold are above .500.

The Western Conference playoff picture is extremely crowded and with less than 10 games remaining, every single game means more than the last. Sunday’s game also has a bit extra juice, as Patrick Beverley previously said that his goal in Chicago was to end the Lakers’ playoff hopes. With back-to-back games against LA, the Bulls have the opportunity to throw a serious wrench into things.

Luckily for the Lakers, the team might be getting some serious reinforcements. If not on Sunday, the latest LeBron James injury update is extremely promising for the upcoming games.

LeBron James injury status vs Bulls (updated):

UPDATE: LeBron James will officially make his return on Sunday against the Bulls and will come off the bench for the Lakers.

LeBron James has been out for several weeks with a right foot injury and we are finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. LeBron was originally listed as doubtful against the Bulls (which is an improvement from his previous injury status).

That has gotten even better as LeBron has been updated to questionable against Chicago on Sunday.

Whether or not he plays will likely be a game-time decision and even though his status has improved, I would not sell the farm that he is going to play. That being said, this change in status indicates that if he does not return Sunday, he will return soon.

Anthony Davis is on the injury report and is listed as probable with a foot injury. This has simply been a formality for Davis since he returned from his foot injury with the Lakers listing him on the injury report every single game. He will play.

D’Angelo Russell is back on the injury report and is listed as questionable. Russell is dealing with right hip soreness.

Mo Bamba is still listed as out with the right ankle sprain that has held him out of action for multiple weeks.
