Anthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers started their journey to another NBA Championship on Sunday in Game 1 against the Memphis Grizzlies. Things started off well as LeBron James quickly brought out the playoff version of himself while the Lakers led for most of the first half.
Los Angeles was more than hanging with the second seed in the Western Conference and many fans were already envisioning what the rest of this playoff run could look like. All those dreams were quickly wiped away after Anthony Davis came barreling in for a rebound and hurt his right arm/shoulder.
Following the play in which Davis leaped over several Grizzlies to attempt to make a rebound, he held his dangling right arm and fans at home could easily see him say that he “can’t move” his arm. Davis was taken out of the game and taken to the locker room.

Anthony Davis injury UPDATE: There is belief that Davis merely suffered a stinger
According to Adrian Wojnarowski’s sources, there is belief that Anthony Davis suffered a stinger to his arm. More tests will be done but if so, this bodes well for the rest of the Lakers’ playoff run.
Lakers’ title dreams will completely end if Anthony Davis’ injury is serious.
The biggest concern for the Lake Show during this entire stretch was whether or not the team could keep Anthony Davis and LeBron James healthy for an entire playoff run. Right now, every Lakers fan is holding their breath as they await an update.
The hope right now among the fanbase is that this is merely a stinger for Davis and is something that, at worst, will keep him out for the rest of Game 1. In a perfect world, Davis could be back i the starting lineup for Game 2.
But it is never a great thing when a player says that they can’t move their arm. And as unfortunate as it is to point out, Davis does not have the cleanest bill of health, so it is not absurd to not give him the benefit of the doubt.
We will continue to update this article as more information about Davis becomes available. As it stands right now, things do not look great for the Lake Show.
