The Los Angeles Lakers took a 1-0 lead over the Memphis Grizzlies with a huge win behind great efforts from the team’s role players. Now the Lakers are looking to advance the series advantage to 2-0 while the Grizzlies are hoping to avoid digging themselves a huge hole as the series returns to LA.
Memphis didn’t just lose Game 1 to Los Angeles but the team lost Ja Morant late in the fourth quarter as well. Morant came down hard after going up for a lay-up attempt and awkwardly landed on his hands, hurting his wrist in the process.
Morant was removed from the game and would not return. If he misses time in this series then it could very well end up being a cakewalk for the Lake Show. Here is everything you need to know about Game 2.
Ja Morant injury update vs Lakers:
UPDATE: The Memphis Grizzlies have officially ruled Ja Morant OUT for Game 2 vs the Lakers.
At the time of writing this, Morant has not been given an official status for Game 2, which tips off at 4:30 PDT. Morant is officially listed as day-to-day with head coach Taylor Jenkins saying that he would be a game-time decision.
That being said, Morant himself said that his status for Game 2 is “in jeopardy” as he is in a lot of pain. We will continue to update you here at Lake Show Life when more news becomes available but right now, it seems more likely that Morant will miss Game 2.
Full Grizzlies injury report vs Lakers:
Aside from Morant, there are no new injuries to report for the Grizzlies. Brandon Clarke, Steven Adams and Jake LaVaria all remain OUT, but that was their status before the series began.
Full Lakers injury report vs Grizzlies:
It feels alien to Lakers fans but there is not a single player currently listed on the Lakers’ injury report. That is strange, as both LeBron James and Anthony Davis were at least listed on every injury report after they returned from their respective injuries.
Anthony Davis did suffer a scare at the end of the first half in Game 1 against the Grizzlies when he hurt his shoulder and was caught saying he could not move his arm. However, Davis would return back to the game in the second half as the injury was merely a stinger.
