LeBron James’ tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers is naturally limited because of the arrival of his son, Bronny James.LeBron has made it more than clear that his main goal is to play with Bronny, who will be a rookie for the 2024-25 season.

Bronny’s rapid ascension up the 2024 prospect rankings has made it unlikely that LeBron will last past next season in LA. Unless the Lakers somehow get a pick in the top 10, LeBron will likely be leaving to join whatever team drafts Bronny (if we are taking him for his word).

Before that, though, Bronny has to decide on a college to play basketball at. He cannot come into the league straight out of high school like his dad and his choice of college is really important. Not only is he going to be the most prolific college player next season but he also needs to find a team that can help catapult him even higher on the big boards.

Nothing is yet official as Bronny has not made any sort of announcement but he may have given fans a spoiler on which team he is joining during Game 4 of the Lakers-Grizzlies series. Bronny was spotted with quite a few prominent individuals at USC, including assistant Athletic Director Gavin Morris and football head coach Lincoln Riley.

Bronny James to USC gains steam after Lakers-Grizzlies Game 4

Bronny James would naturally be a massive player to land for USC not only for what he would bring on the court but for the spotlight it would shine on the program. He would help bring success to the Trojans in his (presumed) one year in college while paving the way for more prolific prospects to join USC.

This would continue a good run of prospects for USC, which was a program that was previously dried up for many years. Evan Mobley, Onyeka Okongwu and Kevin Porter Jr. have all been drafted in the first round since 2019. The last player to go drafted from USC prior to that was Nikola Vucevic in 2011.

Playing for USC does make a lot of sense for Bronny. He would be able to stay close to home and would benefit from the massive advantages of playing in the Los Angeles market. There is a reason why his dad decided to come to LA, after all.

It will be interesting to see where Bronny ultimately decides to go but if he ultimately decides to go to USC it won’t be much of a surprise.
