Is LeBron James playing in Game 5? Lakers injury report vs Grizzlies
By Jason Reed
The Los Angeles Lakers are back on the road on Wednesday as the team takes on the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 5 of their first-round series. After a massive overtime win in Game 4 on Monday, the Lakers have the chance to close this series out with a 3-1 lead.
Finishing the Grizzlies off in five games would be massive for the Lake Show as it would give the team much-needed rest ahead of a potential second-round series between the Golden State Warriors or Sacramento Kings. That series is guaranteed to go six games and should be draining for whichever team comes out on top.
Going to overtime wasn’t the best outcome possible for the Lakers with the team’s two superstars being prone to injuries. LeBron James is now on the Lakers injury report for Game 5, which seems really alarming at the surface. It shouldn’t be. Here is everything you need to know.
Updated LeBron James injury status for Game 5 vs Grizzlies:
While LeBron James has been added to the injury report it is not something that Lakers fans should be losing sleep over. This is simply a formality for the Lake Show, who have put LeBron on the injury report almost every game since he came back from injury.
LeBron is on the injury report with a foot designation and is listed as day-to-day. He is also listed as probable and barring some freak setback right before tip-off, he absolutely should be playing in Game 5 against the Grizzlies.

LeBron is not alone on the injury report as both Anthony Davis and Dennis Schroder have also been added ahead of Game 5.
However, like with LeBron, this is nothing to worry about for Lakers fans. Davis and Schroder are in a very similar situation where their place on the injury report is merely a formality. Both players are also listed as probable and should be expected to suit up tonight.
Full Grizzlies injury report vs Lakers:
After missing Game 2 and subsequently returning and playing the last two games, superstar point guard Ja Morant has been completely removed from the Grizzlies injury report for Game 5. After a huge fourth quarter that was essentially garbage time in Game 3, Morant came back down to earth with 19 points in Game 4.
The rest of the Grizzlies injury report is the same as it has been all series long. Steven Adams, Brandon Clarke and Jake LaRavia are all listed as out.
