Anthony Davis injury update: Betting odds suggest Lakers star will suit up in Game 6
By Peter Dewey
The Los Angeles Lakers suffered a major scare in Game 5 against the Golden State Warriors, as star big man Anthony Davis was taken out of the game with a head injury after taking a shot from Kevon Looney.
Davis was taken out on a wheelchair, immediately putting into question his status for Game 6 after Golden State took Game 5.
Here’s the latest on Davis’ head injury:
Is Anthony Davis playing in Game 6 for the Lakers?
Right now, Anthony Davis looks to be on track to play in Game 6 against the Warriors. He appears to have avoided a concussion, which is huge for his chances of playing at Crypto.com Arena on Friday night.
According to Lakers head coach Darvin Ham, Davis seems to be doing better from when he originally took the shot to head. Even though the Lakers had to pull him from the game, Golden State had already taken control in the fourth.
While there has been no official update on Davis’ status, the betting odds for Game 6 suggest that the star big man is going to play.
Warriors vs. Lakers odds, spread and total for Game 6
The Lakers are favored in Game 6 against the Warriors, which makes sense since they are 6-0 at home in the postseason (counting their play-in win over the Minnesota Timberwolves).
However, if Davis was expected to miss the game, it would be much harder for Vegas to set the Lakers as favorites considering Los Angeles lacks depth at the center position.
As long as AD avoided a concussion, he’s likely going to suit up in a crucial Game 6 with the Lakers having a chance to make the Western Conference Finals.
