5 LeBron James trades that would actually make sense for the Los Angeles Lakers: Chicago Bulls

This trade would net the Los Angeles Lakers the best player of the group, but they would miss out on the youth and picks other teams outside of the Chicago Bulls could offer them.

Adding Zach LaVine would be a huge win for the Chicago Bulls. He’s still in the prime of his career and would be able to play alongside Anthony Davis for more years than even LeBron James would.

The two-time All-Star also inked a shiny new contract extension last summer, meaning he and Davis would be able to suit up for the Lakers for years to come.

Patrick Williams would also be a nice addition for the Lakers, as he’s shown some promise. The same goes for Dalen Terry, though he didn’t earn many opportunities in his rookie season with Chicago.

Meanwhile, this move would allow the Bulls to push for a championship next season with James, DeMar DeRozan, and Nikola Vucevic. Plus, they would get off of LaVine’s long-term salary, freeing them up for a rebuild in the post-James era.

Chicago may need to add some more depth in free agency, but trading for James would put them in a prime position to push forward in the Eastern Conference, as one would expect.

Potential starting lineups:

Lakers: D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, Zach LaVine, Patrick Williams, Anthony Davis

Bulls: Coby White, Alex Caruso, DeMar DeRozan, LeBron James, Nikola Vucevic
