Lakers loser: Cam Reddish

The Los Angeles Lakers brought in several new faces this offseason and some of them are looking to save their NBA career in LA. Two prime examples of this are Cam Reddish and Christian Wood, who both played pretty poorly in Saturday’s preseason opener.

Wood is off the hook (for now) as Reddish should be considered the lone loser for the Lake Show on Saturday. There was some hype for the young forward heading into this game because of Reddish’s old potential and the Lakers’ ability to unlock young players like him.

That potential did not show itself on Saturday as he was the worst rostered member of the Lakers who saw the court. Reddish got 18 minutes to prove himself and did next to nothing, finishing with one point on 0-4 shooting. He committed three turnovers and was a -22.

Reddish tweaked his ankle during the fourth quarter but got up and walked under his own power back to the Lakers’ lockerroom. It does not appear to be too serious of an injury but it is unclear how much time (if at all) he will miss.

One thing is for certain: it was a bad ending to what was a bad Lakers debut for Reddish. Thankfully, these preseason games get lost in the archives and Reddish can try to reset once he is back on the floor.
