The Los Angeles Lakers will go as far as their two star players will take them. There is no denying that LeBron James and Anthony Davis make up one of the best duos in the sport but it is the health factor that is always in question.

LeBron James is in his 21st season in the league while AD is known for his inability to stay healthy. With the 2023-24 season in its early stages, fans are hoping to not just win games early but to keep the two stars healthy.

It took just seven games for the Lakers to suffer their first injury scare of the season as Anthony Davis left in the first half of Monday’s game against the Miami Heat. It is hard to blame any fan for jumping to the worst conclusions, but thankfully, the injury does not appear to be anything serious, as it was called a hip spasm.

Davis warmed up for the second half and was back there on the court to give it a go. However, Davis was removed from the court two minutes into the half and went back to the locker room as his night is presumably over.

Lakers fans shouldn’t be worried about Anthony Davis’ injury

It obviously is never a good sign to see Davis get injured knowing his past. But at the end of the day, the fact that this was just dubbed a hip spasm, and he felt good enough to go back out there, is a good sign long-term for the Lake Show.

Could this result in a missed game or two for Davis? Perhaps. It is early in the season and the last thing that the Lakers need to do is push it. But this is not an injury that is going to keep Davis out long-term or is going to linger throughout the season.

It is hard to see the bigger picture when a star player gets hurt for what feels like the millionth time but Lakers fans can breathe easy. Davis might not have been healthy enough to return to action during the game, but he will be fine in the grand scheme of things.
