Jamal Murray has plenty of people who despise him among Los Angeles Lakers fans. Quite frankly, there is no real reason for anyone supporting Los Angeles to have love for someone that has been dubbed a Laker killer in his career. In light of that, there is some good news for LA fans.

Denver Nuggets president Josh Kroenke made a massive statement after the conclusion of his franchise's season. With the Nuggets falling considerably short of expectations after a first-round exit to the depleted Minnesota Timberwolves, change may be needed in Denver.

Kroenke made it clear there is only one move the Nuggets will not consider under any circumstances, as of now. Everything else? That much could be fair game.

Kroenke said: "Everything's on the table right now, outside of trading Nikola [Jokic]."

Jamal Murray's menacing Nuggets run could end — to the relief of Lakers fans

Murray and the Nuggets is a pairing that haunts the nightmares of Lakers fans. Whenever the NBA Playoffs roll around, and the star guard sees Los Angeles on the schedule, it is almost like the Canadian hooper gets a cue to morph into prime Michael Jordan.

The level of shot-making goes from impressive to downright ridiculous at times. During those moments, Lakers fans are just stuck shrugging, not really knowing what else could have been done to prevent a bucket on a given play.

Jokic's dominance is always going to be a given, to some capacity. That is an all-time great superstar. Even the best of defenders can get cooked by the three-time MVP when everything is clicking for him.

Murray — as good as he is — is far more human by comparison. That is why it feels so infuriating to Lakers fans everywhere when the 29-year-old starts doing his best impression of the Human Torch against them.

In the most recent playoff series between the Lakers and Nuggets back in 2024, Los Angeles actually managed to do a fine job of guarding Murray. Even then, timely buckets for the Canadian star ultimately helped sink them in five games.

The 2023 Western Conference Finals? The less said about the damage Murray did, the better for Lakers fans.

Naturally, the Nuggets will only move off their co-star for Jokic given the right opportunity. Murray is coming off his best regular season as a pro, receiving the first All-Star selection of his career. With a decision on Joker's contract extension looming, the goal is to give him every reason to stay.

That does not mean trading away Murray for the fun of it. However, there should be plenty of willing suitors if the Nuggets are open to fielding those calls. Should Denver get an enticing enough offer, Lakers fans will be more than happy to see that duo break up.
