Washington isn’t going from 17 wins with the playoffs by adding Trae Young and AD.
The door is certainly open for the Lakers. Dallas got just two less than desirable first-round picks for Davis at the deadline. The future Hall of Famer hasn’t played since. Thinking that it will be a massive price to acquire him is just foolish.
AD is entering the final guaranteed year on his contract. He is extension eligible in the offseason and wants a new deal. If the Wizards won’t give him one, Davis may request a trade. That would force Washington to deal him or risk losing him in the summer of 2027.
