Should the NBA bring back the Christmas Day jerseys with the sleeves? Some fans have called for the league to bring the jerseys back, but Lou Williams likely doesn't expect it until LeBron James retires. Williams recently explained why he had a feeling the jerseys were not going to last due to LeBron's feelings towards them, via FanDuel's Run It Back.

"When LeBron started hating them, and he starts ripping them, I knew that was the end of those jerseys," Williams said.

However, LeBron actually made it clear that he wants NBA jerseys to return in 2023. However, he may prefer the version without sleeves. Either way, perhaps the league will consider bringing back Christmas Day jerseys soon.

LeBron James, Lakers preparing for Christmas Day clash

As of this story's writing, LeBron and the Lakers are preparing to play the Detroit Pistons on Monday. However, the Lakers will play the Golden State Warriors on the road on Christmas Day.

With or without Christmas Day jerseys, the game will feel like a throwback contest with LeBron and Stephen Curry leading the way. The two stars have gone back and forth for years, with some of their most notable matchups occurring in multiple 2010's NBA Finals between the Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Curry and LeBron have respect for one another, but they also want to lead their teams to victory. Golden State and Los Angeles both have opportunities to come this season as well, so the game holds added importance.

LeBron's injury status will be something to monitor, however. He has been dealing with a foot injury, something that has consistently placed him on the injury report in recent action. Barring a setback, though, LeBron James will probably play on Christmas Day.

How has LeBron James played on Christmas Day in his NBA career?

LeBron holds a 10-8 all-time record when playing on Christmas Day in his NBA career. Although his record may not jump off the page, James has played well on December 25 from an individual standpoint.

James is averaging 26.4 points, 7.7 rebounds and 7.1 assists per outing across his 18 games played on Christmas Day. LeBron tends to play his best basketball in the big moments, and Christmas games always draw no shortage of attention.

The Lakers and Warriors will go head-to-head on Wednesday night at 8 PM EST as LeBron looks to earn his 11th Christmas Day victory.
