5. Cam Spencer, SG, Connecticut Huskies
Projected Range: Late second round
There's a strong case for Cam Spencer as the best shooter in the 2024 NBA Draft. He's undersized for the 2-spot at 6'3" with a 6'5" wingspan, but at 202 pounds with a proven ability to create within a motion offense, Spencer is a fit for the modern era.
Entering the NBA at 24 years of age with a serious hip injury in his rearview, Spencer could fall to No. 55—and the Los Angeles Lakers would have a chance to find the ultimate steal if he does.
Despite playing for three different teams during his collegiate career, Spencer was consistently elite from beyond the arc. He shot 41.7 percent on 667 total attempts, knocking down a career-high 99 triples at a conversion rate of 44.0 percent while helping the UConn Huskies win the 2023-24 National Championship.
Endless in his range, fearless in his shot-making, and capable of finishing inside the arc, Spencer could be the perfect sixth man at the next level.
For the Lakers, Spencer would be a dream on-paper fit alongside Anthony Davis and LeBron James. He's a capable passer who could run the pick-and-roll with either player, as well as an elite floor-spacer who would command close-outs every time he touches the ball.
There are obvious reasons for Spencer to have a second-round grade, but at No. 55 overall, he would be the epitome of a value pick.
