3. Tristen Newton, Guard

The most experienced prospect to emerge from the 2023-24 National Champions, Tristen Newton could be a high-value target at No. 55. The 23-year-old stands at just over 6'3" and 191 pounds with a near 6'7" wingspan and a versatile game.

Newton needs to solidify his jump shot if he's going to make the transition to the next level, but there's no denying how talented he is.

Newton led UConn in points and assists last season, and also ranked second in rebounding. At 15.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game, he was one of the most productive point guards across the entire landscape of college basketball.

In the biggest of moments, Newton proved how legitimate his numbers were by posting a team-high 20 points and seven assists in the National Championship Game.

At 23 years of age, the 2024 Bob Cousy Award winner is now looking to find an ideal landing spot in the NBA. The Lakers need playmakers who can help run the second unit and create depth behind a potential offseason acquisition, and that makes Newton a target worth considering in Round 2.

Currently the No. 68 ranked player on Jonathan Givony's big board, Newton projects to be available in a spot that he would likely be valued in.
