Tyus Jones
While not the biggest name on this list, Tyus Jones should be one of the top targets for Rob Pelinka and the Los Angeles Lakers. A former Pelinka client, Jones fits the bill of what purists would describe as a pure point guard.
A high-level facilitator who can space the floor, Jones may be willing to go all-in on the pursuit of a championship after spending 2023-24 with the lowly Washington Wizards.
Despite the Wizards' dreadful team play, Jones turned in another strong season individually. He averaged 12.0 points, 7.3 assists, 1.1 steals, and 1.6 three-point field goals made on an efficient slash line of .489/.414/.800.
In addition to producing efficiently, Jones continued to take care of the ball as well as anyone in the NBA by averaging just 1.0 turnover per game.
With a career assist-to-turnover ratio of 5.56, Jones is one of the most responsible playmakers that the Association has to offer. He's not only among the best at finding his teammates in a position to score, but he rarely gives the opposition unnecessary opportunities to gain points in transition.
Considering the Lakers ranked 19th in turnovers and may lose starting point guard D'Angelo Russell to free agency, finding a way to acquire Jones should be a serious consideration.
