1. Defend The Perimeter

With the Lakers, every main point for the team to get a win revolves around defense. Tonight, they’ll face a Charlotte offense with Kemba Walker, Gary Neal, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, and Lance Stephenson. Surprisingly, of that quartet, it’s Stephenson who is averaging the least amount of points, but he may be the most dangerous.

The Lakers have struggled against opposing guards all season. The likes of Goran Dragic and Stephen Curry and Jamal Crawford have all lit up the Lakers’ perimeter defenders. Tonight, for them to be able to stay in the game, they’ll have to limit the production from these four players.

Wesley Johnson has vowed to be a new man tonight, and hopefully it is one who knows how to defend. As the Lakers best perimeter defender, he’s done little to help on that end of the court. If he wants to prove tonight that he’s a new man, then even slowing down the Hornets’ offense would go a long way
