Sure, it’s a stiff white guy only the most knowledgeable of NBA fans would recognize, but still.

Kosta Koufos has received interest from the Mavs, Lakers and Kings among others. The Bucks showed interest too (before landing Greg Monroe).

Koufos has been a serviceable big man for a few years in the league but is nowhere near the type of name the Lakers could toss at fans with any higher hopes of defusing a riot. He’d fit well alongside Randle and probably would come at the cheap so as not to mess up the cap space the Lakers hope to sign no one with next year.
It’s hard to say this exemplifies the Lakers’ recent all-or-nothing attitude, as Koufos is not nothing. It is worrisome, though, that the Lakers had little to no contingency plan in the likely scenario they struck out on the big names. Last year, they sat back and waited as decent free agent targets were swept up as Carmelo Anthony tried to figure out his next destination. This year feels way too much like that.
Look, it’s easy to be overly critical as frustration mounts, but at some point, you have to wonder how disconnected the franchise is from reality.
